The Stephen J. Therrien Memorial Scholarship
For Fisheries and Marine Sciences

Description
The Stephen Therrien Memorial Scholarship for Fisheries and Marine Sciences was established in 2017 by Kerry Jones Clark in memory of her husband. Stephen was a devoted member of the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers and she selected the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Foundation for this memorial fund and thoughtfully designed the award to provide funding for future generations of marine scientists who share Stephen’s dedication to understanding and preserving our fisheries and marine environment.

Eligibility and Application
The Stephen Therrien Memorial Scholarship for Fisheries and Marine Sciences is the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Foundation’s most prestigious merit-based award and recognizes students who show outstanding academic achievement and commitment. Therrien Scholars are intellectually curious and have demonstrated passion, experiences, or achievements beyond the usual. They are, in other words, not just top students, but extraordinary people. All qualified candidates who apply for either the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Foundation’s “Fisheries and Marine Sciences Scholarship” or the “Marine Sciences Continuing Education Scholarship” will be considered for this award.

$500 Scholarships may be awarded.
